Prickly Pear Cactus (Opuntia)

Sun loving Prickly Pear is native to the Americas. It require 6 hours of direct sunlight and prefer south or west facing windows. They prefer their soil on the dry side. Too much moisture will quickly kill the plant. Unlike most cactus, the Prickly Pear can tolerate cooler temps. Keep away from A/C and extreme temperature fluctuations.

Prickly Pear is not poisons to humans or animals, but it is dangerous! The tiny glochids (hair like) are loosely attached and come off when touched. These can get in gums, tongue or eyes, especially in cats.

Cactus is in a 7" basket with moss and bow.
