About UsIMG_8450.jpeg

Fifth Street Flower Shop has been providing the finest floral arrangements to the Springfield metro area since 2-23-31 when Truman Cole purchased Cole Flower Shop, 318 S. 5th St, Springfield, Il, from his father Van Iles Cole and changed the name to Fifth Street Flower Shop.

In 1957 Truman Cole turned the business over to his sister & brother-in-law, Joseph & Alma Jeune Cole Harsha.

July 18, 1976 The Illinois State Journal reported the selling and future destruction of the Lincoln Theater Building, where Fifth Street Flower Shop was located. Joseph & Alma Jeune had not been officially informed of the impending loss of their shop. A flower shop had been at this location since 1915 when William Hembreiker & Van Iles Cole became partners after leaving Lincoln, Il and employment with Gullett and Sons Greenhouses.

Forced to move, Joseph & Alma Jeune relocated to 8th & Cook St.

In 1991 Patrick & Robyn O'Connor moved Fifth Street back to 5th Street.

After 40 +years in the floral business, Patrick & Robyn O'Connor decided to retire.

On September 21, 2013 they sold Fifth Street Flower Shop to Douglas & Sara Camp.
